The Lookout, Camps Bay

The open-plan nature of this contemporary six-bedroom villa in the heart of Camps Bay allows for easy socialising, and floor-to-ceiling glass windows and doors create a natural flow between the house and the outside areas. If you’re the one planning the holiday you can nab the master bedroom too – it has a large balcony with superb sea views. Entertainment areas around the house include a pool table, braai area and splash pool looking out onto the ocean. Another plus? This property is only a short walk from the beach.

This clifftop property is pretty special for both its level of luxury and Instagram-worthy design features. It’s tucked away at the end of a private road and built around giant boulders – some of them have been incorporated into the rooms – and the interiors are dazzlingly white, with vibrant modern artworks adding splashes of colour.  The rooms are fabulously well-equipped, with underfloor heating, minibars and coffee machines, and there are four separate lounge areas, two pools, a sauna and a gym. Parking for four cars is accessed via a remote-controlled car turntable.

From its elevated position on a quiet cul-de-sac, this sleek and ultra-stylish villa has uninterrupted sea views from its expansive deck – the sunsets from here are incredible. Nobody will feel short-changed when it comes to bedrooms either, as all six have king-size beds, air-con, sea views and in-room bathrooms. You’re five minutes from the beach, shops and restaurants of Camps Bay and 25 minutes’ drive from the Waterfront, or just stay home – cool down in the splash pool, braai on the deck, hang out at your own private bar.

 

26 on First, Camps Bay

This contemporary villa sleeps 12 people in six bedrooms and ticks all the boxes for a blissful stay. Set on three levels, it has both ocean and mountain views and plenty of indoor and outdoor entertainment space – as well as an attractive mosaic pool and a small gym and sauna. A continental breakfast is provided daily, along with housekeeping services, and you’re in the heart of Camps Bay and only five minutes from the beach. This property has its own water supply via water tanks and a filtration system.

 

Le Grande, Bantry Bay

The master bedroom at Le Grande is rather special – set on its own floor, it has a private lounge and kitchenette plus a balcony with a Jacuzzi – although all four bedrooms have sea views and balconies. The location of this villa is fabulous too, in an exclusive suburb set between the world-class beach at Clifton and shops and restaurants in Sea Point. The house is an unusual design and is furnished in an eclectic, ornate style – think chandeliers and plenty of African artworks – and there’s a large garden with a swimming pool and outdoor dining area.

Stroll down to the beach from this spacious villa, or chill out around the pool in the leafy garden. The house is on two levels, with three bedrooms on the upper level and three below, and each has its own living, dining and kitchen area – making it ideal for groups of friends and family who want a bit of privacy. The interiors are in relaxing shades of cream and white, with attractive wicker furniture; add on gorgeous sea views, water provisions and a spacious outdoor terrace with a braai area and you’ve got yourself a sure bet.

This property has a superlative location overlooking Clifton’s 4th beach – from almost every room there are breath-taking sea views as far as the eye can see. Although there are just three bedrooms, it’s actually one of the larger bungalows in Clifton and has an expansive indoor/outdoor entertainment area with a braai, pool and Jacuzzi. The kitchen is top-notch too, with Miele appliances. An added bonus is that you don’t access the property via stairs – a rarity in Clifton – although the villa itself is on two levels.

This three-bedroom penthouse apartment puts you close to the action of the Waterfront and in easy access of Cape Town’s main sights and beaches – but the property itself is supremely well-equipped and spacious.
